Ifrane
Ifrane & the Azrou cedar forest
Alpine roofs, thousand-year cedars and the macaques
The road climbs out of the plain into the Middle Atlas. Ifrane looks like a Swiss village, with its pitched roofs and stone lion. Beyond it the cedar forest of Azrou, the Gouraud cedar, and the Barbary macaques that come down to the road. A day of cool air and walking, an hour and a half from the medina.

Where the day-trip driver picks you up

For day trips and tours with an agency, the meeting point is on the R'cif roundabout, opposite the Funky Friends restaurant. Stand next to the big street lamp at the edge of the garden so the driver can recognise you easily, and be there a few minutes before the agreed time.
